Ingresso libero. Prenota qui. In his book Money Must Stay in the Family, author Alain Elkann, through a subtle blend of memoir and fiction brings to life a grand Jewish family from Turin.

The story follows their multigenerational saga from escaping Mussolini's Racial Laws of 1938, to landing on the Upper West Side of Manhattan, to eventually dispersing from new York to Rome, Paris, Tuscany and Jerusalem.
Although New York is the gravitational centre of the story, this is not a story of assimilation into American society, but rather an insightful look into how a family's centuries-old attachment to their Jewish-Piedmontese identity and origin continues to operate within them, as their daily lives unfold in a new environment.

Screening of Ovazza Family Home Movies, by Giorgio Barba Navaretti. A rare record of Italy's Jewish elite's daily life before the Shoah, part of the Ovazza family archive, filmed from the early '30s up to shortly before the promulgation of the Race Laws.

Centro Primo Levi Editions present the English speaking world with a selection of classic and new texts on Primo Levi and on Italian Jewish history, culture and tradition.

This event will be held in English.
