The city of Bari welcomes the exhibition ‘Benvenuta Monumenta’, hosted in the Cittadella della Cultura in Bari, presenting six monumental sculptures from important public collections and Italian foundations. Among these, Sei personaggi n.2 by Luciano Minguzzi, Colloquio col figlio by Giò Pomodoro, Il Giovane cavaliere della pace by Venanzo Crocetti, Donna by Costantino Nivola, Senza titolo (Ellisse verticale) by Mauro Staccioli, Senza titolo by Jannis Kounellis.
This exhibition anticipates the project ‘Monumenta. Art on site', promoted by the Regional Secretariat of the Ministry of Culture for Puglia, directed by the architect Maria Piccarreta, with the support of Confindustria Bari-Bat and the contribution of the Chamber of Commerce of Bari, and the technical sponsorship of ANCE Bari-Bat, ANCE Foggia and ANCE Lecce.
The event, under the artistic direction of Roberto Begnini and the curatorship of Roberta Semeraro, is organised by the cultural association RO.SA.M., for the valorisation of the restoration workshops of Apulian monuments of the MiC Regional Secretariat for Apulia.
The precious sculptures can be visited with free admission until 13 September, from Monday to Thursday, from 8 a.m. to 6.30 p.m., and on Fridays from 8 a.m. to 5.30 p.m. On 20 September, they will be moved to interact with some monuments under restoration in Bari (L. Minguzzi, G. Pomodoro), at Canosa di Puglia (V. Crocetti), at Galatone (C. Nivola) and at Sant'Agata di Puglia (M. Staccioli, at Castello Imperiale). |
