The
title of the exhibition is captivating and inspiring: “SuperStars: Twelve Artists, One
City”. This group show at The Black Sheep in Milan (located in via Giovanni Enrico
Pestalozzi 4), opened on March 31st and runs until April 9th
2017. The entrance is free and the international artists featured are twelve
and have in common the cultural artistic trademark of New York City: Bta, Craig Collins, Gregory de la Haba,
Paola Citterio, Stephan Fowlkes, Pamela Giaroli, Kory Hellebust, Justin Kabbel,
Tamara Kostianovsky, Monica Pisilli, Chiara Spagnoli Gabardi, Agni Zotis.
They all are somehow influenced by the works of Andy Warhol, by living the
cultural vibrancy of the extremely creative lifestyle in the Big Artist Star:
the Big Apple.
New York
continues to be the cultural matrix of the Group Exhibit, as it is still
considered the hub where talent and ideas blossom and thrive; fulfilling one’s
freedom of artistic expression, without any cultural or racial inhibitions. In
fact, New York is currently considered, along with London, the multicultural
city par excellence. Integration occurs on a social, intellectual and artistic
level and is expressed with candour, spontaneity and liberty.
“The
Black Sheep”
Located
in the historical San Cristoforo neighbourhood in Milan, the cultural centre
was conceived as a multidisciplinary studio that is constantly evolving and is
distinguished by its multicultural evolution. The Black Sheep collaborates with
an international group of cultural innovators with whom it shares a diversified
set of skills and experiences to create participation bonds for a cultural
production, through exhibits, screenings, performances, reading, workshops,
social gatherings, cultural events, that embrace all fields in the art world.
The Black Sheep aspires to become the melting point of artistic movements, technical
skills, cultural influences, encouraging artists, curators, event planners to
think outside the box and engage with unconventional projects. The variety of
programs it offers reflects its diversified audience that spans from designers
to cultural promoters, along with PR managers, critics, curators, collectors
and the entire City of Milan.
