Da oggi, 25 aprile 2026, in occasione delle celebrazioni di San Marco, patrono di Venezia, la Fondazione Dries Van Noten apre al pubblico con “The Only True Protest Is Beauty”, a cura di Dries Van Noten insieme a Geert Bruloot.
La mostra riunisce voci affermate ed emergenti nei campi dell’arte, design, moda, architettura e gastronomia. Concepite come un’indagine viva, esplora la bellezza non come risoluzione ma come tensione – un’intensità che sfida il familiare e apre spazi all’inatteso.
Stimolando il dialogo interdisciplinare, crea nuove prospettive, costruendo un ponte tra passato e presente e collegando l’eccellenza locale alla creatività globale, in linea con la missione della Fondazione.
Ospitata nel storico Palazzo Pisani Moretta, affacciato sul Canal Grande, la presentazione si dispiega su oltre duecento opere, dove le pratiche contemporanee dialogano con gli affreschi, i soffitti e le stratificazioni storiche dell’edificio.
Qui, l’artigianato emerge come espressione vitale dell’identità culturale e come linguaggio dell’emozione. Ogni sala diventa uno spazio d’incontro – a volte armonioso, a volte dissonante – guidato dall’intuizione. Le idee prendono forma attraverso materia, gesto e scorrere del tempo, dove mente e mano si incontrano nell’atto creativo.
La Fondazione abita uno spazio di transizione, preservando la tradizione mentre la reimmagina continuamente per il presente. Come sottolineano i fondatori, la bellezza non è un’evasione dalla realtà ma un modo di affrontarla: quando abbraccia ambiguità, lentezza e contraddizione – quando inquieta anziché risolvere – diventa una sottile forma di protesta.

Housed in the historic Palazzo Pisani Moretta, overlooking the Grand Canal, the presentation unfolds across more than two hundred works, where contemporary practices enter into dialogue with the frescoes, ceilings, and layered histories of the building. Here, craftsmanship emerges as a vital expression of cultural identity and as a language of emotion.
Each room becomes a space of encounter—at times harmonious, at times dissonant—guided by intuition. Ideas take shape through material, gesture, and the passage of time, where mind and hand meet in the act of creation. The Fondazione inhabits a space of transition, preserving tradition while continuously reimagining it for the present.
As noted by the founders, beauty is not an escape from reality but a way of confronting it: when it embraces ambiguity, slowness, and contradiction—when it unsettles rather than resolves—it becomes a subtle form of protest.
